Felipe Carrillo Puerto, Q.R. — Residents of the Mayan community of Naranjal Poniente found the body of a dead man on the side of a road. On Monday, the area residents were driving motorcycles around noon when they saw the body in vegetation off to the side of the highway.
They said their attention was diverted by a strong smell as they passed through the area. The light-skinned man was found wearing only underwear. He was faceup laying in thin brush when he was spotted.
Police were made aware of the discovery. They arrived to verify the deceased body and continue to work on identifying him since he was located without personal belongings.
