Felipe Carrillo Puerto, Q.R. — The body of a decomposing adult male has been found off a highway in the municipality of Felipe Carrillo Puerto. A local farmer made the discovery near the town of Pino Suárez around 3:00 p.m.
Police were called in to verify the finding. The body was located along an old footpath nearly 100 meters off the main highway. The man who found the body was driving his motorcycle to check on a cornfield when, in an open area, he saw the body.
Elements of the Public Security Directorate of Felipe Carrillo Puerto proceeded to cordon off the area while evidence was gathered and the body removed. It is believed he had been left there several days beforehand.
The deceased has since been identified as 39-year-old Miguel “D” who had been reported missing since August 21. He was last seen by his family on August 15 in the municipality of Felipe Carrillo Puerto.
