Cozumel, Q.R. — A motorcycle driver was killed Sunday after broadsiding a taxi in an island intersection. Police and paramedics were called to the intersection of 25th Avenue and Xel-Há Street in response to the two vehicle collision.
Witnesses reported the motorcycle driver was traveling “at full speed” when he blew through the marked intersection. In a split second, he hit the side of a passing taxi. He was thrown from his bike and pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the taxi was not hurt. The deceased is reported to have been an island motorcycle delivery man. Paramedics covered the body while they waited for forensic services to arrive. There was no word on charges.
