Felipe Carrillo Puerto, Q.R. — A tragic accident claimed the life of a motorcyclist Sunday afternoon in the municipality of Felipe Carrillo Puerto. The driver of the bike was traveling between the communities of Chan Santa Cruz and Santa María Poniente when he hit a car on a corner.
According to initial reports, the motorcyclist, driving a Vento, collided with a Toyota Yaris. The driver of the motorcycle hit the compact car head on. He was pronounced dead by responding medical personnel.
Municipal Police officers arrived at the scene and cordoned off the area while the scene of the crash was cleared. Preliminary reports indicate that the motorcyclist died instantly, while the driver of the compact vehicle was unharmed.
