Driver freed by passing motorists from destroyed car in two vehicle PDC highway crash

Playa del Carmen, Q.R. — The driver of a car that was totaled in an afternoon highway accident was lucky to walk away. Several motorists stopped to help the driver after seeing the front of his car explode into pieces during a collision.

Other motorists stopped to help get the driver out of the front seat of his crushed car.

On Friday afternoon, the driver of the car slammed into the back of a stopped passenger van. The van made a sudden stop to pick up a passenger from outside a Riviera Maya hotel.

The driver of the car directly behind failed to stop. He hit the driver’s back end of the van, crushing in the front passenger side of his car. The strong impact left the front of the vehicle in pieces. Motorists who stopped to help were videoed kicking large pieces of car debris off the highway as they approached the accident scene.

Motorists were able to free the driver from behind the wheel of the crushed front end of his vehicle. He climbed out the driver’s side door appearing relatively unscathed.
