Cozumel, Q.R. — Municipal police located a body with a missing hand after searching a Cozumel property Monday. Police were lead to the home in Las Fincas after reports of a foul odor.
Upon arrival, they found a decomposing hand near the entrance in the front yard of the property. A search of the property lead them to a small house and the discovery of the rest of the body. The finding was made in a rural area behind the airport Monday afternoon.
Police notified state authorities who arrived to remove both the found hand and body. Authorities are working on identifying the person found inside the small house.
Police have not said if the body found was a man or woman or how long the body had been deceased. There was also no speculation on how the hand ended up in the front yard separate from the body.
