Cozumel, Q.R. — A young motorcycle driver was killed Sunday after crashing into a concrete utility pole. Cozumel firemen were part of the responding emergency team Sunday afternoon.
The driver was killed when he lost control on a corner near Puerto de Abrigo and drove his bike into the pole. Several passing motorists who witnessed the accident stopped to try and help.
His body was found on a grassy area at the base of the utility pole. Paramedics pronounced him dead at the scene. The driver has been identified as 25 year old Julio “C”, an island resident.
Traffic officers arrived to cordon off the area to allow forensic experts to recover the body and process the scene.
