Cozumel, Q.R. — A Cozumel motorcycle driver died at the scene of an accident Saturday night. The motorcyclist died when he skidded into a pole on 120th and Juarez Avenue in the Juan Bautista de la Vega neighborhood.
The driver has been identified as Juan Antonio “P”. He died after losing control while traveling along 120th Avenue between Juarez and Primera Sur. His motorcycle was found on the street. The young driver was found nearby. He is reported to have skidded on his bike and along the way, hit a city pole.
Island police were at the scene of the late night accident Saturday. Authorities did not say if the driver was wearing a helmet. The area was sectioned off while the bike and body were removed from the street.
