Cozumel, Q.R. — A Cozumel man shot Saturday night on public street in the Centro neighborhood has died. The now-deceased is alleged to have had a lengthy criminal record with ties to a local criminal group.
The shooting happened on 5th Street between 10th and 15th South where the male victim was intercepted by two subjects on a motorcycle, one of whom opened fire. Residents requested police after hearing several bursts of gunfire.
Paramedics rushed the shot man to hospital where he later died. The deceased has been identified as 34 year old Aldair “C”. Preventive Police located seven spent shell casings at the scene.
The investigation to locate those responsible for the weekend shooting is ongoing.
