Cozumel, Q.R. — Police have searched a house where a man said he escaped after being held hostage inside. The man, who has not been identified, pounded on a neighbor’s door late Sunday night asking for help.

Police were notified of the man’s escape after arriving at a nearby house physically injured. The victim told Cozumel police he had escaped his captors after being tied up and held inside a room in the house. He was transferred to hospital by ambulance.
A location of the address in Emiliano Zapata was provided by the victim.
Police performed a search of the building, which months ago, was seized by the state for drug sales. Ministerial Police and Forensic Services of the FGE entered the property, collecting evidence related to the injuries suffered by the victim. Inside, police also found narcotics.
