City Council approves spending an additional 19 million on island road work

Cozumel, Q.R. — The Cozumel City Council has approved by majority vote, an additional 19 million pesos. The additional money will be used for street projects around the island.

The approval is part of the Fourth Amendment to the Annual Investment Program (PIA) for the fiscal year 2025 to guarantee a responsible, efficient and transparent management of public resources.

The funds will be used for paving four more streets in the Félix González Canto neighborhood as well as paving streets in the Adolfo López Mateos, Repobladores, Independencia and San Miguel neighborhoods.

City Council says some of that money will also go to rehabilitating the access road to Laguna Ciega.
