Cancun, Q.R. — A series of Cancun surveillance operations over the weekend has resulted in seven being arrested and more than 260 bags of drugs being removed from streets.
Members of the Quintana Roo Police force made the arrests in different parts of the city through neighborhood surveillance operations. The seven were taken into custody in five different incidences. One of the detained was a 16-year-old minor of Colombian origin.
The 16-year-old was found carrying 13 bags of marijuana in the Los García neighborhood in Supermanzana 225. A second arrest also involved a Colombian man, 35, who was found circulating with a bag of marijuana from a motorcycle on Paseos Kabah.
Two others, a 19 and a 29-year-old, were taken into custody by Cancun police when they were discovered in Colonia Los García in Supermanzana 225 with 57 doses of cocaine and crack, while, in that same community, another alleged drug dealer was captured with 96 doses of cocaine, crack and marijuana.
Several others were arrested when police found two alleged drug dealers carrying 96 doses of varying drugs that included cocaine, crack, crystal and mota along the Cancun-Playa del Carmen highway.
In total, Cancun police arrested seven and seized 263 bags of drugs.
