Cancun Maya Train station considered heart of route

Cancun, Q.R. — Governor Mara Lezama recently toured the Cancun Maya Train airport station, which is under construction. She says the station is the heart of the entire route where the Maya Train will pass.

The property where the Cancun Aeropuerto Maya Train station is being built is located on Highway 180-D, just behind the Cancun International Airport. The bypass, which is currently being expanded, joins the Cancun-Merida highways with the Cancun-Tulum highway.

“From here, the more than 31 million passengers who visit Quintana Roo annually will be able to start a fascinating journey through the tourist, cultural and archaeological destinations of our Mayan World” said Lezama.

The Governor says that tourists who travel on the Maya Train will have unique experiences in each of the eight stations and four stops in this state.

“Through the Maya Train they will be able to travel throughout our state while thousands of families receive tourists from all over the world,” she added.

Lezama said that more tourists visiting Quintana Roo will increase the possibility of new businesses which represents the creation of new sources of employment “and an opportunity to achieve the profound transformation that we proposed at the beginning of my government eight months ago.”

Earlier this month, Maite Ramos Gómez, Director of Alstom Mexico, said that the first cars are being readied for shipment to Cancun. He said that by July 8, the first cars are expected to arrive in Cancun and that by July 17, the static tests will be carried out in the area.
