Felipe Carrillo Puerto, Q. R. — The body of an adult male found laying on tubes in a ditch of a construction site has been identified. On Wednesday, the man was discovered already dead on a section of a construction area outside the town of Muyil in the municipality of Felipe Carrillo Puerto.
He has since been identified as a reported missing person. Due to vague location instructions, it took Ministerial Police two attempts to locate the body. On their second attempt, they found the man who was picked up by Forensic Medical Service of Playa del Carmen and finally identified.
Family members confirmed the body of 24-year-old José “P”, who has been missing since June 21. His family finally filed a missing person’s report June 25. He was last seen alive in the town of Tulum. His body was discovered shot to death in the ditch of a construction site several kilometers from the town of Muyil on June 28. Police did not provide a possible motive for the death.
