Othón P. Blanco, Q.R. — A homeless man has been reunited with his daughter following a citizen report. Authorities were notified when the man was seen wandering the streets of Othón P. Blanco in a state of malnutrition.
During a search, authorities were able to find the man. He was given a meal and taken to hospital for medical care. Police from the Secretary of Citizen Security (SSC) were also able to track down his daughter in Cancun who they reunited with her father.
In a statement, the SSC (Secretaría de Seguridad Ciudadana) said “in inter-institutional collaboration with GEAVIG, an elderly man who was homeless was relocated.
“Following a report about a homeless man suffering from malnutrition in the municipality of Othón P. Blanco, authorities were dispatched to protect him and subsequently take him for necessary medical care.
“After his discharge from the hospital, the pertinent investigations were conducted and his daughter was located in the municipality of Benito Juárez. He was transported safely to be with her.”
