Akumal, Q.R. — Two bodies, one of which is reported to be a Tulum taxi driver, were found dead inside a burned-out vehicle Tuesday. Area residents located the burned car on a dirt road leading to an Akumal ranch.
Elements of the Secretariat of Citizen Security (SSC) confirmed the public report of the discovery of a burned car and two dead bodies.
According to preliminary information, one of the bodies shot was a Tulum taxi driver. The second deceased is believed to have been a passenger. Police have not confirmed if the burned-out vehicle was a taxi that may have belonged to the now-deceased Tulum taxi driver.
The area was cordoned off while police collected evidence and the bodies removed from the car.
