Another Maya Train highway worker killed south of Playa del Carmen

Riviera Maya, Q.R. — A construction worker in the central median of the highway south of Playa del Carmen was killed Saturday. The unnamed worker died after being stuck by a car.

The accident happened around 1:00 p.m. near Punta Venado and was reported by highway motorists. According to reports, the now-deceased was the victim of a hit and run.

He was working in the central median of the highway as part of the team repairing old Maya Train damage. Paramedics who responded to the report of the accident confirmed the man’s death. Solidaridad police have not reported any arrests in the accident.

Earlier this month, another Maya Train worker was killed after being hit by a Tulum taxi while working in the central median of the highway.
