Riviera Maya, Q.R. — A man visiting Riviera Maya from the US has died after sustaining injuries from a fall.
According to the prosecutor’s office investigation file 301/2019, 30-year-old Artem Moskovkin died Sunday after sustaining injuries received from a fall from his hotel balcony.
La Fiscalía General del Estado says that Moskovkin had arrived to the area two days before with a friend, Igor. He was on vacation, staying at a hotel in the municipality of Solidaridad when the accident happened.
Moskovkin, who was from Minnesota, was rushed to a private hospital and later moved to the General Hospital where he died from his injuries. According to the GoFundMe page, Moskovkin experienced internal bleeding and required emergency surgery.
An article posted in Bring Me The News says that Moskovkin “was found semi-conscious in the garden area of his hotel on the morning of his second day.”
They report Moskovkin was “in critical condition, unconscious, hypothermic, and on life support, with internal bleeding…”
“His ribs are broken and the ribs punctured his lung,” the campaign continues. “There is no blood flow to one of his legs and doctors don’t know if it can be saved.”
Friends and family have set up a page to raise money since Moskovkin was without any form of insurance.
