Riviera Maya, Q.R. — A young American man has been taken into custody after he was allegedly found selling drugs inside a Riviera Maya hotel.
In a press release, La Fiscalía General del Estado de Quintana Roo says that a 25-year-old American man was arrested at a Riviera Maya hotel after he was seen by hotel staff delivering drugs to another hotel guest.
The Attorney General of the State says that the Specialized Prosecutor’s Office has initiated charges against who they have identified only as Gates N, for the crime of drug dealing for the purpose of supplying.
On Thursday, Gates N was seen delivering small bags of cocaine and pills to a hotel guest. Police were called and upon inspection of Gates N, la policía municipal de Solidaridad reported finding $1,000 USD in cash, 86 transparent pills with cocaine, two glass jars with the same substance and a blue bag that contained 909 empty capsules.
He was referred to the Special Prosecutor’s Office for an investigation of drug trafficking where his legal status will be determined. Authorities of the US consulate were notified.
