Aguakan says maintenance will result in water cut for Playa del Carmen

Playa del Carmen, Q.R. — With the start of the hurricane season, Aguakan says they will launch a preventive maintenance program for Solidaridad’s hydraulic infrastructure on Monday, June 10 that will see their electromechanical equipment improved for the tropical cyclone season.

The company says the goal of the maintenance is to improve its values, electromechanical equipment and of measurement in the catchment area. This means that the water supply to Playa del Carmen will be affected at a general level with the exception of Puerto Aventuras and Puerto Maya.

The work project will consist of replacing an electric pole and changing valves in the well zone as well as the relocation of flow meters, installation of pumping equipment and replacement of valves in Station Seven.

When complete, water supplies to the areas of Balam Tun, El Cielo, Villamar Mission Fractions, Santa Fe, Privanza del Mar, Selva Mar, Tumben Chilam, Xcalacoco, among others will be improved.

Aguakan says the work will begin early in the morning of Monday, June 10 and conclude later that same evening and advises residents of Playa del Carmen to store extra water needed for the day. Again, the areas of Puerto Aventuras and Puerto Maya will not be affected.
