Chetumal, Q.R. — The State Attorney General’s Office has arrested Ramón Antonio “N,” identified as a Most Wanted in Quintana Roo. He was arrested with seven others in relation to the Sunday shootout with police that left three injured and one dead.

The arrests of the eight individuals took place following an operation after the armed confrontation between police and criminal gang members in Chetumal Sunday. According to authorities, Ramón Antonio “N” is facing charges of attempted homicide, unlawful deprivation of liberty, drug dealing, robbery and possession of firearms.
In addition, in complementary actions, members of the Interinstitutional Group, composed of the Mexican Army, the National Guard, the Navy, the State Police, and Municipal Citizen Security, arrested seven more people, seizing various narcotics, firearms, and tactical equipment, they reported.
Among the items seized were a shotgun, eight .223 mm caliber long guns, two 7.62 mm caliber long guns (known as “cuerno de chivo”), three handguns, two grenades and fully loaded magazines and live rounds.

During the Sunday confrontation, one police officer was injured by a firearm and two others in a vehicle collision. One of the criminal gang members was killed.

As part of their investigation, police located a safehouse in the Adolfo López Mateos neighborhood, where a second prisoner was rescued. In custody is Ramón Antonio “N,”, Uriel “N”, Edgar Rafael “N”, Johan Assiel “N”, Ángel Alexander “N”, Christian “N”, Ismael de Jesús “N” and Roger Alejandro “N”.
