Isla Mujeres, Q.R. — The Mexican Navy performed a weekend cruise ship evacuation of a 72 year old passenger. The woman was rushed to hospital suffering partial loss of mobility and consciousness.
The medical evacutation happened late Saturday night off the coast of Isla Mujeres where the cruise ship was met by the Navy vessel.
“Naval personnel conducted a medical evacuation of a person off the coast of Isla Mujeres, Quintana Roo,” the Navy reported.
“This action was carried out after receiving an emergency call from a cruise ship requesting the medical evacuation of a 72-year-old foreign woman who had suffered partial loss of mobility and consciousness.”
Navy Search, Rescue, and Maritime Surveillance were deployed Saturday night in a Defender vessel with Naval Medical personnel on board.

“Upon arriving at the scene of the emergency, the individual was assessed and evacuated. She was then transported to Puerto Juárez, where a private ambulance met her and took her to a hospital in Cancun for specialized medical care.”
