Cancun, Q.R. — During the weekend leading up to one of the busiest holiday seasons of the year, police in Cancun arrest 14 people for driving while intoxicated.
Police with la Dirección de Tránsito reported that during their latest breathalyser check stop, which were two stops, one at Avenidas 20 de Noviembre with Calle 75 Norte and Kabáh with Nichupté, police sent a total of 14 people to jail for failing the breathalyzer test.
The check stop results, they say, were only for Saturday night adding that all 14 who were arrested were men.
The busy holiday season of Semana Santa will begin this weekend for Cancun and Riviera Maya with hundreds of thousands arriving by plane and car for their annual seaside vacation.
