Mahahual, Q.R. — Motorists alerted local authorities to a shooting outside the town of Mahahual Wednesday. Agents from the Quintana Roo Police arrived late Wednesday to find the deceased body of an adult female laying along the side of the highway.
The woman, who has not been identified, was killed after being shot while on the Cafetal highway, about half a kilometer from the entrance to the town of Mahahual.
Several shell casings were found at the scene near where the body was located. Authorities have not released any details about the shooting.
