Chetumal, Q.R. — Chetumal police responding to a single-car accident arrived to find the vehicle empty. The crash was reported early Saturday morning between a Chetumal taxi and a city pole.
Witnesses to the Pacto Obrero Campesino Avenue accident told police that the driver got out and appeared to be intoxicated as he fled the scene. Transit Officers were left to deal with the abandoned cab that was found crashed against the base of a concrete CFE pole.
The front of the taxi was damaged more than the pole. Drivers along the Avenue during those hours were inconvenienced while photos were taken and the cab towed.
