Chetumal, Q.R. — A Chetumal man was killed Saturday after being hit while riding on a Chetumal highway. The unnamed man died after being struck by a vehicle while riding his bicycle in Álvaro Obregón Prolongación Saturday morning.
Witnesses reported seeing the driver of a private truck hit the bike. They were able to provide a detailed description of the red Chevy that is alleged responsible for the deadly hit and run, the same description that matched the vehicle that stopped.
When police arrived, they located a red Chevy a few meters ahead of the accident scene, the same truck allegedly responsible.
Witnesses to the 11:00 a.m. accident reported seeing the truck hit the bicycle from behind. The man on the bike was pronounced dead at the scene by medical personnel.
