Walmart de Mexico signs agreement with Gazpro to add gas stations to stores

Mexico City, Mexico — Walmart’s Mexican subsidiary has said it has signed an alliance with Mexican company Gazpro for the installation of gas stations in its parking lots. Walmart says it will install gas stations in the parking lots of certain stores across the country.

“Walmart de México y Centroamérica, together with the Gazpro company, announced the signing of a plan to start up new gasoline service stations that will be located in the parking lots of certain Bodega Aurrera, Mi Bodega Aurrera, Sam’s Club, Walmart Express and Walmart Supercenter stores throughout the country,” the company said.

In a press release, Walmart de Mexico said the main objective of the plan is to offer customers and partners the comfort of being able to fill their car with gasoline in the same space where they can make their purchases.

The new gasoline service stations will be designed, developed and operated by Gazpro and will be supplied with gasoline by Pemex through the sub-licensed brand model for the sale of Pemex products.

The development of the project is subject to obtaining authorization and permits from the various corresponding authorities.
