Cancun, Q.R. — A suspect believed responsible for the murder of three Cancun taxi personnel has been captured. The State Attorney General’s Office have arrested Jonathan Emmanuel “N” “who is allegedly involved in events that could constitute the crime of qualified homicide against a collaborator of the Andrés Quintana Roo taxi driver’s union.
“Jonathan Emmanuel “N”, who is also a member of the union, is being investigated for events that occurred on the afternoon of October 25 of this year, when the victim arrived at his home aboard a taxi, at which time two vehicles arrived, from which two people got out and deprived him of his freedom.
“As a result of this crime, the State Attorney General’s Office opened an investigation file, to find the whereabouts of the victim and his captors.
“A field search was carried out, after which it was possible to locate, on October 30 of this year, the lifeless body in a green area of the Cancún-Mérida Federal Highway,” police reported in a statement.
Cancun police also said their first investigations also link the detainee with the murder of two taxi drivers that occurred on September 12 of this year.
“The first investigations link Jonathan Emmanuel “N” with the murder of two male taxi drivers, which occurred on September 12 of this year.”
Police have not provided a motive for the three murders.
