Cancun, Q.R. — Two teens have been arrested in the abduction of a Colombian woman that happened Friday morning. The two youths were taken into custody after the woman escaped from the criminal safe house where she was being kept.
She managed a successful escape Saturday, a day after she was abducted at gunpoint from behind the wheel of her vehicle in a parking lot in SM 509 of Cancun.
The two suspects, both in their teens, were captured by Cancun police from the El Milagro neighborhood. They have been named as Miguel Daniel “R” and Víctor “A”, 17 and 19.
Cancun police reported that patrolling officers were alerted to the 9-1-1 report of a Colombian woman who was at a home in El Milagro asking for help after escaping from a building where she was being held.
Responding officers learned it was the Colombian woman who was abducted the day before. She was able to locate the criminal safe house where she was being held. At the safe house police located two youths who were identified by the woman as her guards.
Both remain in custody. Police have not said if the two teens were those responsible for the armed abduction or if they were simply safe house guards. Cancun Police have not provided a possible motive for the woman’s abduction.
