Cancun, Q.R. — Police were at the scene of an abduction that happened in a Cancun parking lot early Friday morning. The incident happened outside small shopping plaza in SM 510.
According to early information, the victim, a woman of Colombian nationality, was forced from her vehicle at gunpoint around 9:00 a.m. The abductors broke her driver’s side window to gain access and pull her from the vehicle.
The woman had left a nearby gym and climbed into her vehicle when she was intercepted by armed men on foot who are reported to have been waiting for her.
According to reports, her son was with her at the time of the incident. He is reported to have told police that his mother was forcefully removed from the SUV at gunpoint and transferred to a waiting truck before being driven off.
Municipal authorities arrived at the scene first and sectioned off the area. Forensic personnel also arrived to collect evidence. The woman’s whereabouts remain unknown.
