Cancun, Q.R. — Two employees have been jailed after a robbery inside a Cancun television station building. The robbery was reported to police Sunday morning when staff arrived for work.
After an investigation, Cancun police proceeded to arrest 34-year-old Carlos N and 55-year-old Gabriel N on grounds of breach of trust. Carlos N was initially taken into police custody Sunday as a person of interest. Since his arrest, a second man, Gabriel N, has also been arrested. Both were security guards for the television station.
According to preliminary information, one of the security guards was coerced into opening the company’s safe at the request of another worker in search of a check. There are allegations of extortion, however, police have yet to comment on the robbery.
