Chetumal, Q. R. — Two children were removed from a Chetumal home Tuesday after investigating police found them inside. The home was searched by police after an investigation of child pornography lead them to the address.
Police were granted a search warrant for the home in the Flamboyanes neighborhood of Chetumal. Inside, authorities removed computer equipment that included storage devices with child pornography material.
Two adults were arrested from inside the home. In a brief statement, authorities reported that PDI agents from “the FGE of Quintana Roo fulfilled a search warrant derived from an investigation for the probable commission of the crime of human trafficking at an address located in the Flamboyanes neighborhood in the city of Chetumal.
“Experts carried out the processing of the place, securing storage devices with child pornography material, electronic equipment and cash. Two people were arrested – one of foreign origin – who will be presented to the MP to determine their participation in these events.”
During the month of June, an American man wanted in Sarasota court for possession of child pornography was arrested in Merida.
Earlier in the month, a man from Norway was taken into police custody from the streets of Mexico City on allegations of heading an international pedophile ring since 2014.
