Chetumal, Q.R. — Two men aboard a taxi were arrested for an attempted abduction. On Friday morning, the two men were detained from inside a Chetumal taxi after police were notified by a witness.
Their arrests were made after a witness reported the man had been kidnapped by subjects from behind a building. They were able to provide the details needed for police to issue an alert and track down the cab.
It was around 6:00 a.m. when the taxi was located traveling along Álvaro Obregón Avenue. While the driver attempted to evade authorities by fleeing on Insurgentes Avenue, he was intercepted.
From inside the taxi, police located the abducted man. Two men were handcuffed by Transit elements and the taxi, seized. Charges will be made after the victim files a formal complaint.
