Chetumal, Q.R. — A Friday night shooting in Chetumal has left one taxi driver dead. The shooting began on Efrain Aguilar Avenue and ended on Avenida Revolución where the driver of the unit died.
According to preliminary information, the car was targeted when the driver left a conveinence store. As soon as he began to move, armed subjects in a second vehicle took aim.
In an attempt to flee, the taxi driver tried to drive away but was intercepted and shot. His cab was located driven onto a green area several blocks from where the shooting began. Inside the unit, paramedics found the deceased driver.
At least two armed subjects were seen shooting at the taxi. Passing motorists seeing what was happening made reports to 911. Police searched the area for the vehicle described, however, no arrests were made.
