Chetumal, Q.R. — Three people were rescued from inside a burning house in Chetumal Saturday night. Firemen arrived to find the home on Estero de Ucum Street fully engulfed in flames.
Municipal police officers were also at the scene. Due to the size and intensity of the fire, police sectioned off part of the neighborhood while firemen worked to put out the fire.
Medical personnel evaluated the three occupants pulled from inside the home. There were no major injuries reported.
Members of the Chetumal fire department were there more than an hour before finally declaring the fire fully extinguished. The house was completely gutted by the fast moving flames.
According to local reports, neighbors said two vehicles belonging to the same home were found on fire and extinguished by city firemen less than a week ago.
Civil Protection will aid in the investigation into the cause of the house fire.
