Mahahual, Q.R. — A two vehicle head-on collision outside Mahahual ended with three being transferred to hospital. On Monday night, emergency personnel responded to the report of a highway accident on a section of Mahahual-Punta Herrero road.
According to information obtained, the accident happened when one of the cars was trying to pass another. While in the oncoming lane, that car crashed head on into another vehicle.
The impact caused both the Nissan and Chevrolet to leave the paved highway. Three people between the two vehicles were transferred to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Paramedics from the Mahahual Fire Department arrived at the scene to transfer a 39-year-old man from one of the cars and two others, 50 and 66, from inside the second vehicle for medical attention.
