Cancun, Q.R. — A third person has died from the March 31 house fire in Paseos del Mar of Cancun. The fire claimed the life of a mother and her 12 year old son on the night of the blaze.
A third person, 49 year old Maria Gladys “N”, was taken to hospital in a private vehicle due to the extent of her injuries. She was transferred by car along with a child from the scene of the fire on the night of March 31
She remained in hospital two weeks where she died April 14. She is reported to have been the grandmother of the two children from inside the apartment.
Maria Gladys “N” had burns on approximately 50 percent of her body, mainly on her chest, back and limbs. Those burns led to severe complications that ultimately caused her death.
The child that was transferred with her in the private car remains in hospital.
On the night of March 31, a bottom floor apartment in a residential complex exploded in a fire ball killing two at the scene.
An LP gas leak from a tank that was being used inside the home has been the said cause of the fire.
