Mahahual, Q.R. — Ten people rescued at sea by a passing cruise ship were left in the hands of Quintana Roo authorities. On Sunday, 10 people were brought aboard Enchantment of the Seas cruise ship after being found stranded at sea.

The nine men and one woman were located in Quintana Roo waters by the passing ship off the island of Isla Mujeres. The ship brought all 10 on board and transported them to the Port of Mahahual where National Migration Institute (INM) agents were waiting for their arrival.
In a statement, the Secretaría de Marina said “naval personnel, in coordination with the Instituto Nacional de Migración (INM), provided support and medical care to 10 foreign shipwrecked victims rescued by the cruise ship Enchantment of the Seas in the Caribbean Sea, off the coast of Isla Mujeres, Quintana Roo.
“The shipwrecked victims rescued by the cruise ship were disembarked at the Costa Maya cruise ship dock in Mahahual where they were received by naval personnel.

“Upon arrival, the shipwrecked victims were assessed by Naval Health personnel, who confirmed they were in good health. Personnel from the INM also arrived at the scene to carry out the corresponding procedures for identification, protection and immigration regularization.”
