Suspect in custody for Cancun murder and dismemberment

Cancun, Q.R. — Police in Cancun have arrested and formally charged a man for the murder and dismemberment of a body. On Thursday, Valerio Jesús “N” was charged for the August 10th murder.

According to an FGE statement, Valerio Jesús “N” and a second person subdued and dismembered the body of a man. His remains were placed in two suitcases then left in a residential dumpster. The remains were found the next morning by a resident tossing their morning garbage.

“The first acts of investigation indicate that on August 10 of this year, the defendant, together with another person, possibly subdued the victim at an address in the Villas del Mar neighborhood in SM 248 of Cancun,” authorities reported in a statement.

He was subdued until he lost consciousness “where they later dismembered him and placed his remains in two suitcases, depositing them in a garbage container.”

An investigation, including a search of the property where the events occurred, allowed authorities to find the necessary evidence to request and obtain the arrest warrant against Valerio Jesús “N”, which was executed by the Investigation Police.
