Chetumal, Q. R. — A woman’s boyfriend has been charged with her murder after police located her body earlier this week. Edwin Jesús “N” was arrested Monday, hours after a search team found the abandoned body of Dulce Yarely with the help of city surveillance cameras.
In a statement, the State Attorney General said evidence, including the C5 city surveillance video, was presented during the preliminary hearing Thursday.
They said prosecutor’s “provided the appropriate and conclusive evidence, including the recordings obtained from the C5 cameras, which allowed the alleged femicide to be charged.”
Edwin Jesús “N” has been charged for “his alleged participation in acts that could constitute the crime of femicide against the young woman Dulce Yarely,” they reported.
“Edwin Jesús “N” was charged for events that occurred between the night of August 29 of this year and the early morning of August 30 of this year. On the day of the events, the man took the victim, with whom he had a romantic relationship, in his car to his house located on Andrés Quintana Roo Avenue with Lázaro Cárdenas Avenue, around 10 at night.
“Two hours later, Edwin Jesús “N” left the house, apparently alone. These actions were recorded by a video surveillance camera. Later, the vehicle driven by the suspect arrived at the town of Laguna Guerrero near the community of Calderitas, where it entered a dirt road and left minutes later.

“The analysis of 19 C5 cameras allowed investigators to locate the place where they found Dulce Yarely’s body,” they said. Her body was found Monday, three days after her family reported her missing. Hours later, police made their arrest.
A Chetumal judge has ordered Edwin Jesús “N” to remain imprisoned during his trial.
