Puerto Aventuras, Q.R. — A four vehicle fender bender halted northbound traffic outside Puerto Aventuras Saturday. The four vehicles collided after reports of one driver suddenly stopping in the fast lane.
Three others coming up from behind were unable to stop before hitting one another. A total of three vehicles were heavily damaged in the mini-pileup along the federal 307. The fourth vehicle, a van, was hit but without substaicial damage.
One young girl was taken to hospital by ambulance for minor injuries. Others from the accident were evaluated by paramedics at the scene. No additional hospital transfers were made.
National Guard Highways responded to the report of the federal highway crash that left afternoon traffic snarled for more than an hour. The driver of the car that suddenly stopped was arrested on allegations of causing the crash.
