Playa del Carmen, Q.R. — An investigation into sex trafficking has lead to the arrests of three people from a Playa del Carmen establishment. The establishment was part of an ongoing investigation by authorities who reported also rescuing four foreign women.
Investigative Police, in coordination with the National Guard, executed a search warrant in a Playa del Carmen establishment in which they rescued four women of foreign origin.
The women are alleged victims of human trafficking in the form of foreign prostitution. At the same time, two women and one man were arrested.
The detained are identified as Pablo Javier “N”, Nubia “N” and Marilyn “N”, who allegedly work at the place where the search was carried out on Calle 24 Norte with Calle 1A Norte.
The search warrant was requested after various investigative acts, traditional and technological, by Investigative Police assigned to the Specialized Prosecutor’s Office in Combating the Crime of Human Trafficking, the FGE reported.
The rescued women were taken to the State Attorney General’s Office where they underwent medical and psychological examinations, in addition to giving the corresponding statements.
The property where the procedure was carried out was secured with the corresponding seals.
