Several areas of Chetumal under water after intense rain

Chetumal, Q.R. — At least 16 areas of the state’s capital city of Chetumal was left under water Monday. The system rolled in during the early morning hours and continued into daylight, drenching Chetumal.

One area most affected was Constituciónntes Avenue where several intersecting streets such as Tomas Aznar, Erick Paolo, Cacao and Chico Zapote Streets reported higher than usual water levels.

The heavy rain left the Caribe neighborhood with problems due to overflowing storm drains.

Clogged storm drains added to the flooding problem around the city.
