Chetumal, Q.R. — A man driving a semi trailer was left with a fractured arm after being robbed on a highway outside Chetumal. After the nighttime attack, the victim told police that his unit was stopped by a vehicle that intentionally blocked the highway.
Once stopped, several subjects emerged from inside the vehicle and made their way toward his trailer. He was then forced to open its doors, but when the would-be thieves saw the box was empty, they proceeded to physically assault him.
The unnamed semi driver was left with several injuries including a fractured arm after his assailants attacked him with a bat. The incident happened at night along a section of highway leading out of southern Quintana Roo.
The injured driver was transferred to the Nicolás Bravo clinic for treatment.
