Cancun, Q.R. — A second combi driver has been stopped on Cancun city streets after authorities found him providing the public service without a face mask. The driver, who was stopped in Region 91, was eventually arrested.
According to a statement from the Municipal Secretariat of Public Safety, when agents asked the driver to put on a mask, he became aggressive and refused to comply, for which he was arrested. He is the second public city transport driver to be arrested for failing to comply with the state’s mandatory preventative health measures.
The previous arrested public transport driver was stopped for failing to wear a mouth mask. Upon inspection of his unit, police found the combi was overcrowded.
