Chetumal, Q.R. — A second arrest has been made in a fraudulent used car operation in the municipality of Othón P. Blanco. On Saturday, Jessica “N” was taken into custody in Merida in the neighboring state of Yucatan.
According to local authorities, she is facing charges in 45 cases of used car sales fraud. Police say Jessica “N” is the second person allegedly related to 45 investigations opened for the crime of fraud consisting of the purchase and sale of motor units for an amount of more than 2.7 million pesos.
“The FGE of Quintana Roo, in collaboration with the FGE of the State of Yucatan, executed an arrest warrant against Jessica “N”, who, along with three other people, offered used vehicles at attractive prices, but did not deliver what was agreed upon,” they reported.
Like recently arrested Gerardo Iván “N”, she is also believed involved in 45 investigations of auto fraud in the South of Quintana Roo.
“The woman, who is probably involved in the frauds that led to 45 investigation files, was arrested by agents of the Investigative Police of the Attorney General’s Office of Quintana Roo in collaboration with their counterparts from the Attorney General’s Office of the State of Yucatan, when she was walking along 37th Street between 110 and 108 in the city of Merida,” they said.
According to initial investigations, the alleged participants in these events carried out operations in Chetumal from 2023 until mid-October of this year, in which they were engaged in the purchase and sale of used vehicles through a company under various corporate names.
“These companies offered vehicles of various models, brands and prices, with attractive facilities, such as a down payment of 15 percent of the total value or discounts for payment in a single installment, but after carrying out this transaction, the motor vehicles were not delivered.
“So far, this Social Representation has detected five companies of dubious legality, related to the people now detained.”
Following her capture, Jessica “N” was transferred to Quintana Roo. She is currently being held in the Chetumal Rehabilitation Center.
