Search continues for driver of rolled vehicle outside Mahahual

Mahahual, Q.R. — Authorities are continuing their search for the driver of a rolled car outside Mahahual. The rolled vehicle was located abandoned by the Navy approximately four kilometers from the entrance to the town.

Military personnel found the car on its roof around 7:00 a.m. after several citizen reports. It was located without license plates. Those from inside managed to get out through a back door that was found left opened.

According to information gathered by the Citizen Security Secretariat (SSC) officers, the vehicle was overturned, off the pavement and without the presence of its owners. It also lacked license plates and other documents.

Military personnel carried out a search in the communities of Mahahual and Pedro Santos for those from inside the car, but did not locate anyone. A tow truck was called in to remove the car from the highway jungle where it rolled.

Police did not report finding any illegal items inside the vehicle.
