Romanian man arrested in Mexico City on Cancun homicide charges

Mexico City, Mexico — Elements of the Federal Police in Mexico City report the arrest of one male person who was sought by Cancun (Quintana Roo) authorities for the crime of attempted homicide.

La Policía Federal Ministerial (PFM) say that in collaboration with agents from the Instituto Nacional de Migración (INM), a man identified as Ioan L of Romanian nationality was taken into police custody after arriving on a flight from Quito, Ecuador.

The arrest took place inside the Aeropuerto Internacional de la Ciudad de México (AICM) when police found he was wanted on attempted homicide charges in the state of Quintana Roo. Ioan L is wanted on attempted murder charges against a male identified only as A.G.S. in June of 2018 in SM 3 of Cancun.

He was taken into custody at the airport and subsequently made available to agents of the apprehension unit of the Attorney General of the State of Quintana Roo.
