Cancun, Q.R. — The mayor of Cancun says the remodeling of the city’s main boulevard is set to begin in May. Cancun mayor Mara Lezama announced that renovations to revamp the introductory artery into the city will include 11 kilometers of Bulevar Luis Donaldo Colosio.
The project, she added, will cost around 900 million peso.
“Is a reality! In May 2022, the total rehabilitation of Bulevar Luis Donaldo Colosio will begin. 11.1 km of hydraulic concrete and an investment of 900 million pesos. Thank you President Lopezobrador for making this project focused on the common good and well-being of our people a reality,” she wrote on social media.
Her announcement came days after another area visit by President Andrés Manuel López Obrador. While here, he flew over the Maya Train routes for an update on construction.
He also held a morning press conference where he announced several projects set for the state of Quintana Roo. One of those projects was the remodeling of Cancun’s Colosio Boulevard.
Other project announcements included the construction of Chac Mool Avenue, 1.5 kilometers north of the airport junction, the construction of the Nichupté Lagoon vehicular bridge and the Jaguar National Park in Tulum.
