Quintana Roo starts week with just over 3,400 positive cases

Cancun, Riviera Maya, Q.R. — -With a slight decrease in the number of new cases reported in the last 24 hours, Quintana Roo closed the week with 3,437 positives and 562 deaths from COVID-19.

In its daily report, the State Health Secretariat announced 3,000 negative cases and 3,437 positive cases with 562 deaths but 1,859 recovered. In addition, 828 infected people remain in isolation, while 188 required hospitalization.

For the week of June 29, the state epidemiological light remains orange for both the northern and southern regions of Quintana Roo.

The SESA technical statement reports 2,087 positive cases for Cancun, 87 for Cozumel, 30 positive infections for the municipality of Isla Mujeres (not just the island), while in Puerto Morelos, they have recorded 13 cases. In the municipality of Solidaridad (Playa del Carmen), there are currently 514 positive cases, while the municipality of Tulum has reported 53 cases.

Around Mexico, the country has recorded 261,852 positive Covid-19 cases. According to a 2018 census, the country has a population in excess of 126 million.
